Converting SolidWorks Part files directly to 3D Studio Scene format (.sldprt to .3ds conversion) can be done using the 3ds Max software itself.
- In 3ds Max go to 'Menu'
- Select 'File to Import'
- Select 'SolidWorks' (.sldprt) from the 'Files of Type' drop-down menu.
This conversion could, alternatively, also be possible using other 3D modeling, or conversion tools. We do, however, recommend using the default program in order to accomplish the cleanest 3D data translation.
