How to convert rte to rvt file

A new projects (.rvt) can be created from existing template (.rte) in Autodesk Revit Architecture. No other program can probably handle this "rte to rvt conversion", which appears to be more like a standard workflow anyway and not a proper file conversion in the traditional sense.
