MKS (Matroska subtitle) is a subtitle file format that is part of the Matroska multimedia container format. ASS (Advanced SubStation Alpha) is a subtitle format that allows for advanced styling and positioning of text.
While there is currently no known software tool capable of directly converting subtitles from .mks streams to .ass (or any other) subtitle files, there is a promising workaround. You can extract the subtitles using MKVToolNix or a similar MKV video tool, a process that is indeed possible, and then modify or convert them using standard subtitle software like Subtitle Edit.
