Although you can import previous versions of Guitar Pro projects (such as .gp) to the latest version of the program, it doesn't seem that it is possible to produce any of the previously used formats because the latest  Guitar Pro projects (.gpx) are unfortunately not backwards compatible.

Simply put, it is impossible to convert GPX to GP directly.
Thus, there is no so-called gpx to gp converter or a free online .gpx to .gp conversion tool.
