Although embroidery designs are vector based, some dedicated embroidery programs also support some kind of digitizing function that transforms simple bitmap images to vector designs. It does work with most bitmap formats including the BMP, however the end results depends on the complexity of the source. As for bmp to sew conversion, this should be doable with Janome software or any embroidery software with support for Janome formats.
