A direct conversion of Audio Video Interleave files to Microsoft PowerPoint Presentations (.avi to .pptx conversion) is not possible. However, you can easily import or embed AVI videos into an already existing/new PPTX presentation.
Microsoft PowerPoint supports the AVI video format, should you, however, encounter issues importing specific AVI files, try converting them first to WMV format (Windows Media Video). That should fix any compatibility issues. In such case, refer to the AVI to WMV conversion entry.
